After visiting this used to be bubbly and energetic girl I once knew, I suddenly realized that life is so so cruel. It’s only the Lord we can turn to during difficult times because our earthly possessions cannot do anything to contradict what He has in store for us. Gemma is the daughter of my husband’s first cousin Kuya Digo. The eldest and one who gives the bulk of financial support to her family, she’s a band singer with most of her singing stints in Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, etc. According to Gemma’s brother, Dante whom we have secretly talked with at Ospital ng Maynila when we visited Gemma last Tuesday, she was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago and was scheduled for mastectomy then but due to a job call abroad, she left without undergoing the surgery. To cut the story short, she took and faithfully relied on herbal medicines that the malignant lumps will be dissolved with its intake. Even though she underwent chemotherapy back in Korea where she was based, the cancer had metastasized down to her liver and is now in its 4^th stage. She was here last May for a visit and according to them she wasn’t that serious yet until she came back 2 weeks ago gravely ill. They were advised by doctors to send her home just to wait for her final moment.

Let’s not take our health for granted!
